Originally we didn't expect to have the opportunities to talk with youth throughout the trip. However, we have been fortunate enough to make contacts with teachers and staff at schools in several different countries. They invited us to come and chat with their students about our trip and the power of education through adventure.
We have been absolutely blown away by the reception of the students. At all the schools they attentive while we flipped though our photos and rambled out our stories and then filled the rest of our time with great questions. We are still receiving emails from kids we've talked to with their thanks and desire to get out there on their own adventures.
Not only does this motivate and encourage us on our journey but it has also built our anticipation and excitement to talk with more kids thoughout the trip and when we return home.

Youth In The Outdoors
While growing up together on the West Coast of British Columbia we have been blessed with a freedom to explore our environment and challenge ourselves. From this freedom we have grown into confident young men with strong abilities as outdoor leaders. We see outdoor adventure as a potent learning tool and one that can have a powerful impact on the lives of those who partake. Youth are particularly receptive to this type of intangible challenge and we believe this is something all kids should strive to experience. We love to see youth getting outside and believe that it can heal wounds, turn someone's life around, and influence a healthy, environmentally aware lifestyle.
It's a fact that kids in this day and age aren't getting outside as much as they used to. Studies show that youth who have a strong interaction with nature are less susceptible to Attention Deficit Disorder, are more sociable, and actually receive better grades.
We want to share our passion for the outdoors, kayaking, and tripping with youth by telling our story at schools and other youth groups after the trip. We hope to reach youth in a way that they haven't been before by inspiring them to get outside and dream big. Our trip will be the adventure of a lifetime and we want to inspire youth to get started on their own.
